My name is Susie Finney, and until recently, I was a full time missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I was on staff with YWAM Tyler, TX, and working with YWAM’s School of the Bible (SOTB) I taught periodically (both regular bible topics and Greek), updated our student web portal, managed social media for School of the Bible, oversee our student library, and was also part of teams that grade student homework and get the word out about the school. In addition I was involved in ongoing one on one discipleship with the students.
However, I recently transitioned away from working with YWAM, though my interest and heart for missions still remains. I have begun working with a ministry called Ministry of Helps. I’m still figuring out my role here, but am very excited to be part of the team helping Winkie Pratney’s ministry. I have a feeling it’s a new season, and a new start for me.
My hobbies are reading, writing, and hanging out with friends and family. I also love going to concerts whenever I get the chance. And random dance parties. And obscure lyrical references And a lot of other quirky things. 😉
The focus of this blog, as the title implies, is to write primarily about life from my own perspective as a missionary living and working in the U.S. This could cover everything from musings on theology, to thoughts sparked by my daily experiences in missions, to (on rare occasions) journal entries (modified slightly for clarity) on different passages of the bible. Fridays are my “fun writing day”, where I write about whatever I feel like writing about, on any topic I like. I may deviate from this at times, but that’s the basic idea of this blog. My goal is to blog at least 3 times a week, but if I’m being honest, the number of times and the days I blog will probably be somewhat variable. If you want, you can subscribe to my blog to have new posts e-mailed directly to you.
