Free Form Friday: O Fall, Where Art Thou?

Crisp days. Cool nights. Colorful leaves.

Long sleeves and warm jackets.

Hot cider and pumpkin pie.

These are the things I call to mind when I think of Fall.

Last weekend I actually turned my heater on for the first time in months. (I admit, I was inordinately excited about this, but sometimes it really is the little things in life that make me happy.)

And yet today, I was back to wearing short sleeves again. And sweating in the 82 degree humidity of a Texas “fall”

O Fall, Where Art Thou?

I’m not gonna lie. There are some things I genuinely enjoy about living in Texas, but this time of year my heart always turns towards my childhood home in the Great Northwest. If you want to see truly beautiful Fall weather, visit Seattle sometime. (Oh, and I might add we have some pretty darn good coffee too. 😉

I know I’m being impatient, as Fall will arrive eventually, so I guess you could call this a low-level rant, but it’s true. Just a few thoughts on this Friday evening.

So now that I’ve shared my thoughts on fall, what is your favorite season, and why?

  1. hahaha as someone who is currently living in Seattle, I can only say YES I agree with you about the beautiful Fall and the awesome local cafes! I get excited for Fall because it is about being warm, being snuggly, cuddling with a good read, hot beverages, beverages, food..so many reasons!! The only downside is that I need to start getting my vitamin D drops again — you know how dark it gets over here 😦

    • Definitely! Sounds like you’re my kind of person! Enjoy that wonderful cool weather for me, and don’t get too down with the darker days. The weather here is cooling down into the 80s during the day, 70s at night. I’m really looking forward to coming home for Christmas. 🙂
