Free Form Friday

Welcome to the very first installment of Free Form Friday!

While I intend to keep this blog primarily focused on missions, and other topics as they intersect with it, I’ve decided to make Friday my “fun day.”  My “write whatever the heck I feel like writing” day.  I hope you enjoy it, and as always, feel free to leave comments on the randomness that is about to ensue.  😉

So what shall I write about on this, my first Free Form Friday?  Well, for starters, as I type, I am listening to the audio of a Third Day concert I went to last November.  Whoever came up with the idea of having them post full audio feeds of their shows online is brilliant.  I wish I could meet this person, so I could thank them.  If you’ve never listened to Third Day, I highly recommend checking them out.  I will freely admit to being a concert aficionado of sorts.  (I know this is vital information to for the rest of the world to know…not.  I promise I’ll try to limit the amount of self-indulgent over-sharing of irrelevant information here.)

On a completely unrelated note, today was the final day of class for School of the Bible.  This whole week our students have been doing 45 minute teachings, based on various epistles.  It has been so great to see how much they’ve grown this year, and to be in the position of being the student of my students.  🙂  It’s hard to believe that in just over a week, they will have scattered all over the globe.  We have teams going everywhere from Zambia to Houston to New England.  I know they will have an amazing, challenging, hard, wonderful time as they teach the bible in these different areas.  I am including a picture taken with some of my students over spring break, when we went on a day trip to Fort Worth.  (Why?  Because it’s Free Form Friday, and I love my students!)

As for myself, I am eagerly anticipating some R&R soon…flying home for an all-too-rare visit to my parents in Seattle, including a side trip east of the mountains to spend time with my brother and his family.  I am so thankful for my family, and the chance to spend a little extra quality time with them.  (The chance to escape the Texas heat for a few weeks is an added, but very welcome, bonus.)

How about you, my readers?  Do you have any exciting plans for the summer?  Tips on things to do during these hot months?  I would love to hear from you!
