Free Form Friday: Let’s Get This Party STARTed

Another week has flown by.  They say the older you get, the faster time goes by, and I’m finding it really is true.  Hoping to learn to make the most of the time I have.

Speaking of time flying by, I got an e-mail today as part of the START experiment, run by Jon Acuff (of Stuff Christians Like fame), noting that today marks the halfway point of this 24 day experiment.  Halfway already?  Really?  When and how did that happen?  It makes me want to reevaluate what I’ve done so far with it.

The premise of this experiment is simple: an online community has been started up, and we have been grouped into teams of 24, including one person to whom we are specifically accountable for whatever our “Start goal” is.  Different people have different goals, everything from writing more (mine) to getting in better shape to taking business-related risks.  It’s an upbeat group of encouragers, and it’s been a fun experiment to be a part of so far.  Each day we also get a short e-mail from Jon with an “action point” for the day.  Everyone is encouraged to push towards their goals and “punch fear in the face” by keeping on in spite of challenges, fear, opposition, or whatever.

Honestly, I’m not as far along on my goal as I had hoped to be at this point, although that has been partially due to much of my time being taken up with moving.  (See last Friday’s post for more on that)  But even the fact that I’m blogging a little bit again is a step in the right direction.

So how about you?  What goals or dreams are you working on right now?  What challenges are you facing?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments section.

Bonus: Here’s a little song to rock out to as you work on your own goals today.  It’s called “Let’s Get This PartyStarted”, by TobyMac
